Then things got so hard
For her parents each day
Eviction was near
There was no way to pay.
It’s not easy to study
When you’re stressed a great deal
About housing and school
And how to find a hot meal
Then, along came some help
United Way at the lead!
They know how to care
For all those in need
They i-den-tify issues
Fund the best programs, too.
Then mobilize people, resources:

Isn’t that what we all want?
You know,
To learn.
To grow.
To grow.
To thrive.
But sometimes it’s hard to get ahead,
When Life gets tough.
Really tough.
Like paying-the-rent tough.
Like keeping-your-kid-in-school tough.
Like finding-a-hot-meal tough.
The good news is, we do “tough.”
We’re United Way of Mass Bay.
While a lot of people find a way to manage,
Some just need a little help.
That’s where we come in.
We’re Uniters.
And Fighters.

On this little planet.
And while there’s not a lot of good news sometimes,
There’s still a lot of good in the world.
Untapped GOOD.

And we’ve had a lot of practice (90 years to be exact):
IDENTIFYING (issues (homelessness, etc.)
MOBILIZING (people/resources)
CREATING (programs)
DEPLOYING (volunteers/socially responsible companies)
DELIVERING (hope)
